About Us
What is the PTSA, and why does it matter?
The KBK8 PTSA is a volunteer-led organization made up mainly of parents, working together with the school to support our students and strengthen our school community.
As a public school, many of the programs, improvements, and extras that enrich our students experience go beyond what school funding provides. That’s where the PTSA comes in.
We, as the PTSA, we partner with the school to fund programs, improve our campus, support teachers, create community events, and bring ideas to life that make the KBK8 experience better for everyone.
Who runs the PTSA?
Each year, KBK8 families elect a volunteer Board to help lead and organize the PTSA’s work. Board members are parents who volunteer their time — but the Board is only one part of the PTSA.
The PTSA is all of us.
Every parent, every teacher and staff member can become a member, participate, share ideas, volunteer, and have a voice.

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year!
It is an honor to serve as your PTSA President and to begin a year centered on strengthening our school, building community, and creating meaningful opportunities for every student.
Our mission this year is to ensure that PTSA resources make a lasting impact on our children’s education. We are placing a greater focus on academics, student experiences, and support for our teachers and staff, while continuing to build the traditions that make KBK-8 such a special community.
A key part of that mission is our new Shark Impact Circle, an initiative designed to bring together families, local businesses, and community partners who want to invest directly in the future of KBK-8. Through this collective support, we hope to fund meaningful initiatives that go beyond what traditional school resources can provide.
Most importantly, we want every family to know that there is a place for you in our PTSA.
Whether through membership, volunteering, participating in events, sharing ideas, or supporting our initiatives, every contribution helps move our school forward.
Together, we can make this an impactful and memorable year for our Sharks.
